We are so excited to share that we’ve launched a brand new furniture and home décor line, Sterling & Maple! As interior designers, we constantly see a need for high quality home furnishings that are aesthetically modern yet fit into the everyday lifestyle. Sterling & Maple is an artfully designed, skillfully crafted custom furniture and home décor line handmade right here in our quaint home town of Sterling, MA.
Sterling & Maple is a new branch of Joshua Allen Design focused on designing and creating handcrafted furniture that captures the essence of New England, the timelessness of interior design and the uniqueness of each individual. Here at Joshua Allen Design, we love furniture. Let’s be real, it is the cornerstone of the success of any interior design. We believe that functionality and practicality are two of the basic interior design principles, but we noticed that often these principles were missing or overlooked in the furniture world! We wanted to fix this, so we set out to develop a line of furniture and home decor that features the practicality of solid real wood and the timeless functionality of handcrafted furniture - with our own unique flair (of course). Our goal from the very beginning has been to leave our mark on the design world, and we can't think of a better way than to create quality furniture and home decor that captures the essence of who we are and the design principles we believe in! We love designing spaces, and creating Sterling & Maple gives us one more way to do this while also getting to rewrite our definition of interior design.
As a company that believes in supporting other local businesses and working together with those in our community, we are proud to partner with another Massachusetts based company, 22 Woodworking, in the creation of this line of furniture. The owner, Jason, has a natural talent for woodworking, and he brings this excellence to the craftsmanship of each of our pieces. These are not simply mass-produced rickety pieces you can get at any store. These are handmade pieces made of real solid wood and metal that you can bring into your home to complement any room without having to worry that they won’t last. Investing in our local community and maintaining great relationships with our vendors is something we pride ourselves in! We aspire to build a community and brand larger than ourselves. We have goals of partnering with additional local businesses in the future to bring even more unique pieces to our line, so stay tuned!
Now, let’s get to the good stuff. What have we designed, and what are we making? Well, we are starting out with all the basics! Sterling & Maple is currently selling coffee tables, side tables, wall clocks, and cutting boards, with more to come in the future. Each of our pieces hand-branded with our signature logo and is available in one of three finishes; Early American, Red Chestnut, and Espresso. The design world is ever changing and evolving, and our goal is to continuously adapt with new ideas for furniture and décor items while working together with local artists and like-minded businesses!
